A spring-loaded bunging valve is used to prevent tanks and vessels being over pressurized, The valve body is made of stainless steel 304, with EPDM O-rings, and a polycarbonate cylinder air-lock housing. Spunding valves come with an adjustable nut to set the release pressure, which is usually set higher than the operating pressure and will open when pressure inside the tank/vessel exceeds this preset. Additionally, manual release is possible by pulling the spindle via the spherical top knob. Cleaning of the valve may become necessary if expunged debris interferes with the valve from seating fully to form an air tight seal.
